Arvig has decided to exit the Verizon Wireless business, the company announced Monday.

All Arvig Verizon Wireless locations will close permanently on Dec. 31.

“It was a difficult decision, but it is ultimately best for our customers, employees and overall company goals,” said David Arvig, vice president and chief operating officer at Arvig, in a press release.

He continued, “It’s been our privilege to bring Verizon Wireless to our local communities.

“While we will no longer be the local resource for Verizon, we can now fully focus on delivering and expanding core Arvig services like broadband Internet, television, and security and home automation.

“Many of the Arvig Verizon Wireless representatives will be assuming new responsibilities within the Arvig organization to further that effort.”

After the Arvig Verizon stores close, customers looking for assistance with their Verizon equipment and account may visit any Verizon Wireless location, call Verizon Wireless at 800-922-0204 or visit verizonwireless.com.

Arvig will continue to provide walk-in service for Internet, telephone and television services from retail locations in Perham, Park Rapids, Detroit Lakes, Pelican Rapids, Twin Valley, Ada, Henning, Walker, Parkers Prairie, Melrose, Sauk Centre, Grand Meadow and Wabasso.

Customers are invited to stop in to their local Arvig Verizon store to take advantage of inventory blowout sales to find deals on phones and accessories.
