On Sunday, March 1, Dennis Lange will retire from Aurochs Vet Service and transfer all of his responsibilities to his second cousin, Sara Mattson, as the new owner of the business.
"It's a little overwhelming but I'm excited," Mattson said about the change. She's been working at the Audubon veterinary clinic since April, when Lange reached out to her about taking over the business. "I've been doing basically everything, it'll just be the ownership side of things that will be new to me. I have a good team that's helping me."
Mattson has worked in the veterinary field for the past two years, graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2017, she said. She grew up on a farm in Spiritwood, N.D., and always knew she wanted to be a vet, she said.
"I'm excited to meet everyone and for the new responsibilities," Mattson said.
