Detroit Lakes named bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community

Detroit Lakes earned the bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community award from the League of American Bicyclists, according to a news release.

Detroit Lakes received the award because of the implementation of bike education programs in schools and the improvement and expansion of bike trail networks, the release said.

It is one of the 32 communities in Minnesota to receive the Bicycle Friendly Community award, making Minnesota the third most bicycle-friendly state, the release said.
