Essentia Health has restricted routine social visits at its senior care facilities in Detroit Lakes to limit the potential transmission of COVID-19.
The new restrictions are in effect at Essentia Health Oak Crossing, Essentia Health Winchester and Lincoln Park Senior Apartments and Essentia Health Lincoln Park Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes.
Following guidelines from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to limit the potential transmission of the coronavirus, Essentia Health is postponing gatherings and events, screening anyone entering its facilities, and limiting access to its facilities, Essentia said late Friday afternoon in a news release.
For the protection of its residents, caregivers and family, the following restrictions have been implemented:
Routine social visits are restricted until further notice.
Essentia senior care communities (nursing homes, senior apartments and assisted living facilities) will restrict access to essential visitors only. Specifically, this means limiting visits to those related to a change in a resident’s condition or a loved one being at the end of life.
Essential visits will be limited to the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Everyone entering the building will undergo screening at the designated building entrance.
Essentia says it is committed to safeguarding the health and wellness of residents and preventing the spread of illness. “Maintaining the health, wellness and safety of our senior care residents is our top priority,” Essentia said in the news release. “We have plans in place and can respond quickly and efficiently should the virus affect a resident, caregiver or visitor.”
As the situation evolves and changes, the latest available information will be posted on the Essentia Health website at www.EssentiaHealth.org.
