Maid-Rite Diner has targeted Detroit Lakes as a priority city for their 2011 Franchise Growth Plan.

Maid-Rite first began its operations in Iowa in 1926.

According to Larry Remmen, Community Development Director, "Detroit Lakes is the county seat with an economy that is doing very well. We would welcome a Maid-Rite Diner to the community and would be glad to assist an entrepreneur who may be interested in this business opportunity."

Brent Kuehne, of DLM Group, plans to develop 24,000 square feet with three buildings downtown, which Maid-Rite officials say would be an excellent location for their Diner.

Bradley Burt, Maid-Rite President and CEO says, "The standard start-up package for a Maid-Rite Diner can be as low as $240,000 for a 1250 sq. ft. floor plan, which includes equipment and furniture leasehold improvements, working capital and the franchise fee."
