The Board of Directors for the Wild Rice Electric Cooperative, in Mahnomen, announced Kristen Dolan as their next CEO in a press release on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
Dolan will be the company's 6th CEO in their more than 80 year history. She will replace Steve Haaven who served as CEO of the utility for the last 38 years.
Working previously as CEO of the Runestone Electric Co-op, in Alexandria, Dolan also has "deep roots" in supplying electricity to rurul communities. Both her father, and grandfather, served as directors at the Minnesota Valley Co-op.
Dolan also served as the manager of finance and member services for Meeker Co-op, in Litchfield, Minn.
Her first day at Wild Rice Electric was Nov. 2.

Wild Rice Electric Co-op is an electrical distribution cooperative that delivers services to all of Mahnomen County and parts of five neighboring counties, according to the company's press release.
