The City of Detroit Lakes and Becker County are holding a public informational meeting regarding plans for the downtown street construction project.
The meeting is set for Thursday, Dec. 4 at 9 a.m. at LaBarista in the Washington Square Mall.
The purpose of this meeting will be to provide everyone with an update on the project and allow for further input and questions.
The tentative agenda includes a review of project improvements, phasing and sequencing, construction impacts, traffic control and detours, parking, access and other items.
The construction, which is set to begin in the spring, also includes underground utility improvement projects along Washington Ave.
City Engineer Jon Pratt says the project was delayed due to high bids, and are still “considering changes to the project phasing and other construction requirements that could potentially improve the bid prices.”
