Detroit Mountain is hosting its inaugural Gift of Giving campaign, according to a news release. The campaign is two weekends and benefits four different local nonprofits:

  • Saturday, Nov. 30: Benefiting the Becker County Food Pantry. Suggested donations are nonperishable food items and/or monetary donations.
  • Sunday, Dec. 1: Benefiting the Marshmallow Animal Shelter. Suggested donations are clumping cat litter, bleach, disinfectant cleaner, paper towels, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and/or monetary donations.
  • Saturday, Dec. 7: Benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of DL. Suggested donations are arts and craft supplies, games, gym/recreation equipment, cars, legos, playdough, and/or monetary donations.
  • Sunday, Dec. 8: Benefiting the Lakes Crisis and Resource Center. Suggested donations are snow pants (3T-fifth grade), kids winter boots, winter coats for teenagers, and/or monetary donations.

Donations will be collected at the Detroit Mountain's Landslide Tubing Park. Anyone who brings in a donation will receive 2 hours of tubing for just $10. The campaign is in conjunction with Leighton Broadcasting.
