Rock band 38 Special will raise the roof of Mahnomen's Shooting Star Casino this Friday, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m.
Formed in 1975 in Jacksonville, Fla., this six-member group has topped the Billboard charts with songs including "Hold On Loosely," "Rockin' Into the Night" and the No. 1 hit, "Caught Up in You."
Iin the past few years, the group has toured with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr., REO Speedwagon and Styx, and filmed a CMT Crossroads special with country singer Trace Adkins. They have also performed overseas for U.S. servicemen in Cuba.
The band's current lineup includes founding members Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant as well as guitarist Danny Chauncey, bassist Larry Junstrom, keyboardist Bobby Capps and drummer Gary Moffatt.
