Atlanta Church Reunion: "Come Home to Atlanta" for the church's annual reunion worship service starting at 12 noon. Pastor Jill Steichen will lead the worship. After the worship, a catered lunch will be served by Anna Brown Catering. A freewill offering will be received for the meal. Wildlife Movie: A free screening of the movie, “Beavers, the Biggest Dam Movie You Ever Saw,” will take place at 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge. Pumas hunt guanaco, shape-shifting frogs hide in remote forests, and the descendants of Inca build bridges of grass. Run time is approximately 55 minutes. Call for Actors: The Becker County Museum is hosting a "Stories & Stones" cemetery walk at the Holy Rosary Church Cemetery on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m., and they are looking for up to 21 actors, ages 12 and up, to portray a variety of personal history stories about members of the church's congregation. Ole's Ride for Hospice:The 10th annual Ole’s Ride is Saturday, Aug. 24. The event is in memory of Richard “Ole” Barten, who lost his battle to cancer in February 2011. Hospice of the Red River Valley cared for Ole during his last months, and the family wanted to use the event as a way to give back to an organization that cares for so many families in the area. All proceeds from the event benefit Hospice of the Red River Valley. Pre-registration and a bike show will be held on Friday, Aug. 23 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Billy’s Corner Bar in Vergas. Registration continues on Saturday from 10-11:30 a.m. with the ride through Minnesota lakes country leaving at noon. The cost is $25 per bike, $15 for an additional rider, and includes a T-shirt, meal and chances at door prizes at each stop. A meal, silent auction and live music by the Fat Cats follow the ride. Tuesdays in the Park: Every Tuesday night through the end of August, Habitat for Humanity will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, beans, potato salad and beverages in the Detroit Lakes City Park from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Following the meal, live music begins at 7 p.m. under the bandshell and lasts for approximately an hour, though some performers do continue to play a little later into the evening. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, as bench seating is limited. In case of inclement weather, both the picnic and the concert will be moved inside the Pavilion.

Volunteer Respite Care: Become a respite care volunteer! For those 17 years and older interested in providing basic companion and supervision to older adults to relieve their primary caregivers. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month.
