Frazee-Vergas Class of 1971 Reunion: The Frazee-Vergas High School graduating class of 1971 will be gathering at the home of John and Lola Bachmann, 51862 County Highway 51, Frazee, for its 28-year reunion, starting at 2 p.m. A potluck supper will be held.

Old Fashioned Corn Feed: St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Audubon will host its first old-fashioned corn feed from 4:30 to 7 p.m., featuring fresh corn on the cob, homemade potato salad, brats, veggie brats, hot dogs and ice cream. The church will also be hosting the Beer & Hymns event that normally takes place at the nearby Cormorant Pub, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. St. Peter's is located at 19747 County Highway 6, Audubon.

Wildlife Movie: A free screening of the movie, “Kingdoms of the Sky-Andes,” will take place at 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge. The longest mountain range on the planet holds dozens of hidden worlds, from the driest desert on Earth to cloud forest teaming with life. Pumas hunt guanaco, shape-shifting frogs hide in remote forests, and the descendants of Inca build bridges of grass. Run time is approximately 55 minutes. Pancake Breakfast: The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser with a choice of pancakes or French toast, sausage and a beverage, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in the Holy Rosary Parish Center, 1043 Lake Ave., Detroit Lakes, with all proceeds to go to support local activities.

Kick off the evening with a cruise around Pelican Lake on the 55-foot Big Pelican Pontoon at 5 p.m. Then enjoy a Smorgasbord dinner in the dining room from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and follow that up with the Hills’ much-celebrated Hootenanny, beginning at 7:45 p.m. in the Pavilion. Plant, Pest & Gardening Clinics: The Becker County Master Gardeners will once again be hosting their Plant, Pest & Gardening Clinics throughout the summer at the local University of Minnesota Extension office, 1120 Eighth St. SE, Detroit Lakes. Tuesdays in the Park: Every Tuesday night through the end of August, Habitat for Humanity will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, beans, potato salad and beverages in the Detroit Lakes City Park from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Following the meal, live music begins at 7 p.m. under the bandshell and lasts for approximately an hour, though some performers do continue to play a little later into the evening. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, as bench seating is limited. In case of inclement weather, both the picnic and the concert will be moved inside the Pavilion.

Memory Cafe of the Lakes: Memory Cafe of the Lakes is a free place to gather, open to those with mild to moderate memory problems and their care partner. Volunteer Respite Care: Become a respite care volunteer! For those 17 years and older interested in providing basic companion and supervision to older adults to relieve their primary caregivers. AmeriCorps volunteers receive a $200 per month stipend and after completing 450 hours in a year, receive a $1,600 educational grant. Community volunteers, individuals willing to help on a minimal basis, also welcome! Outdoor Pickleball: Detroit Lakes Area Pickleball hosts organized play from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Monday through Friday at the Peoples Park outdoor courts (Saturday mornings are also busy). BC Senior Meals: Meals for persons 60 and older are served several times each week at nutrition sites in Detroit Lakes, Lake Park, Osage and Wolf Lake or can be delivered directly to homes in these communities, Frazee and Callaway, via the Meals on Wheels program. Preschool screening: Preschool screening for 3-5 year olds for the Frazee-Vergas district is provided through Becker County Community Health Services. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.

Senior Center Activities: The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month.
