After the exhausting snowstorm this weekend, many families came out to the Grand Parade of Lights Monday evening in their snowsuits. Some of them took the suits to their advantage, finding seats to watch the parade in the snow piles along the sidewalks.
Kids especially seemed to enjoy the float from the Humane Society of the Lakes, which brought multiple dogs out for the parade-goers to see and pet; the float with Elsa, Olaf, Anna and Sven -- kids sang along to the well-known Frozen songs as it went past; and the Santa and his sled float.
The parade wrapped up within about 30 minutes, but many families didn't leave town just then. Some went and shopped through the stores that stayed open late, and some went to slide down the giant snow hill in the J.C. Penney parking.
