Learn about Amish culture and history from presenter Julie Tebay, whose knowledge is based on extensive correspondence with Amish coworkers and friends that share a talent for master quilting; many of whom are employed at Quilting Plus, Tebay’s hand-quilting business located in Rochester, Minn.
Tebay’s unusual Amish quilt collection - purchased directly from her friends - features quilts from the late 1800s through the 1900s and will be displayed at each presentation.
The program is free and open to the public.
Tebay’s presentation schedule will be as follows:
- Tuesday, Sept. 16: 10:30 a.m., Fertile Library; 5 p.m., McIntosh Library; 7 p.m., Fosston Library.
- Wednesday, Sept. 17: 10 a.m., Bagley Library; 2 p.m., Mahnomen Library; 7 p.m., Detroit Lakes Library.
