Arctic explorer coming to DL

The Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) is pleased to announce that Lonnie Dupre, Arctic explorer and environmental advocate, will present at various LARL branch city venues on Feb. 9-11.

The Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) is pleased to announce that Lonnie Dupre, Arctic explorer and environmental advocate, will present at various LARL branch city venues on Feb. 9-11.

Detroit Lakes will be Dupre’s first stop on Monday, Feb. 9, where he will present at the Historic Holmes Theatre at 7 p.m.

Dupre will also visit the Detroit Lakes Middle School and Holy Rosary Catholic School earlier that day.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, he will present at St. Michael’s Church in Mahnomen at 10 a.m., and at the Fosston Library Theatre at 1:30 p.m. His final stop will be at Bagley High School on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 9:30 a.m.

All presentations are free and open to the public.

Grand Marais native Dupre is a veteran arctic explorer and is currently on an expedition to climb Alaska’s Mount McKinley - also called Denali - which is 20,237 feet high.
