BeethovenFest set in Fargo

The WinterArts organizing committee of Fargo-Moorhead will host BeethovenFest, a monthlong arts and cultural festival beginning Jan. 31.
BeethovenFest is the first of what will be an annual winter arts experience, with a different artist featured every year. Shakespeare will be the featured artist next year.

BeethovenFest Kickoff, Jan. 31, 4 p.m., Fargo Theatre, free screening of “Beethoven Lives Upstairs”
“Bump Into Beethoven,” find Beethoven in West Acres and around the community at pop-up displays and mini-events, then check #beethovenfest on Twitter or Facebook for sightings
Beer-thovenFest Celebration, special happy hour every Thursday in February at different area brewpubs including Drekker Brewing, Fargo Brewing Co. and Junkyard Brewing
Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Masterworks All- Beethoven Concert, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 and 2 p.m. Feb. 1, NDSU Festival Concert Hall
“Immortal Beloved,” Fargo Public Library, Downtown, a film screening, 2 p.m. Feb. 1
Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Young People’s Concerts for area fourth-graders, NDSU Festival Concert Hall on Feb. 5, concerts at 9 and 10:30 a.m., and 1 p.m., featuring the music of Beethoven and an opportunity to meet Mr. Beethoven, Jay Nelson.

Beethoven celebration concerts and art improvisation, Plains Art Museum, Fargo, noon Feb. 10 performance by William Comita, Tyler Wottrich and Cecilia Kang, and noon Feb. 11 performance by Marjorie Schlossman and Margie Bailly, both concerts are free and open to the public
Saturday Strings, Fargo Public Library Downtown, 2 p.m. Feb. 14
Woo Beethoven!, a F/M Communiversity course, 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at Concordia College, consolidates all of the smaller “bump into Beethoven” performance-lectures into one session
