The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation recognizes the need for financial assistance for students pursuing a career in law enforcement.
This year the foundation will once again generously award up to 10 $750 scholarships. Scholarships are available in one of the following two categories: students attending mandated skills program within one year of the scholarship deadline and students attending the second year of a vocational technical or other POST approved academic program specifically towards a law enforcement certification/licensing (including four-year students who have attained more than 50 percent of the required academic education and currently enrolled, working towards POST license).
The Chief Law Enforcement (CLEO) in the applicant’s home city of residence must endorse the application and provide background information as to the candidate’s good character and general citizenship qualities. If the applicant is employed by a law enforcement agency, it would be permissible to obtain the endorsement from that CLEO.
Applications received without the CLEO endorsement will not be considered. Applications will be accepted through July 29.
Scholarships will be awarded in mid-August. Any questions can be directed to the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation at 651-457-0677 or info@mnchiefs.org . Scholarship information is available online at www.mnchiefs.org .
