There is always a big demand for toothpaste and toothbrushes for people using the Becker County Food Pantry, and Dental Associates in Detroit Lakes has stepped up to help meet that demand with a donation of toothpaste.
Food Pantry director Brad Carlson said that they generally have to buy supplies, especially toothpaste, so donations of dental supplies free up money to buy food.
“It is very helpful when community partners help out with valuable donations such as these,” said Jane Neubauer, dental services coordinator for PartnerShip 4 Health, a collaboration of community and public health partners in Becker, Clay, Otter Tail and Wilkin counties.
“Many thanks to Dental Associates for their generous donation,” she added. “Anyone else that would like to donate dental supplies is encouraged to do so. If anyone would like to host a dental supplies drive in the community, they can reach out to me and I can help them to organize that.” Neubauer can be reached at jmneubauer@prtel.com .
Here’s a good use for part of the tax refund or stimulus check: March is Minnesota FoodShare Month at the Becker County Food Pantry, which receives an incentive award based on the amount of cash and pounds of food it collects March 1 through March 31. The more donations it collects, the larger the award from the Greater Minneapolis Community Connections.
