Breakfast on the Farm: Enjoy a farm country breakfast served by the Hawley Lions from 7 a.m. to noon at the David and Joanne Herbranson Farm, 12402 260th St. S., 11 miles south of Hawley on County Road 31 (roads will be marked). Middle Crow Wing Lakes Association: The annual meeting of the Middle Crow Wing Lakes Association will be held in Bethany Lutheran Church, Nevis, starting at noon.

West Lake Drive Project Info Meeting: The homeowners along West Lake Drive between Legion Road and County Road 6 have requested a meeting with city and county officials at 8:30 a.m. in the Spitfire restaurant to discuss concerns regarding the street and utility improvement project set for the summer of 2020. City Administrator Kelcey Klemm, City Engineer John Pratt and County Highway Engineer Jim Olson have all been invited to attend.

National Trails Day at Tamarac: Join the Laurentian Lakes Chapter of the North Country Trail Association as they hike at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge to celebrate National Trails Day. The hike options will include a 5.5 mile hike or a family-friendly 1 mile trek. Meet at the Tamarac Discovery Center at 10 a.m. for the long hike or 1 p.m. for the family hike. Finish at the Discovery Center with an ice cream treat and learn more about the North Country National Scenic Trail. Hiking and ice cream — who can resist?

Budweiser Clydesdales in Detroit Lakes: Watch the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales as they're being hitched in the parking lot next to the Detroit Lakes Pavilion, 1361 Washington Ave., starting at noon. Then watch them parade down West Lake Drive starting at 1 p.m., continuing to Legion Road before heading back to the Pavilion, where the public will have an opportunity to take a photo with them for a limited time.

Pancake Breakfast: The local Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a pancake/French toast and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in the Holy Rosary Parish Center, 1043 Lake Ave., Detroit Lakes, with all proceeds going to the scholarships and youth activities. All are welcome.

Shakedown Mountain Bike Race: Detroit Mountain Recreation Area and Minnesota Mountain Bike Series is excited to host the 4th Annual Shakedown Mountain Bike Race at Detroit Mountain. Registration opens at 8 a.m., with the first race beginning at 9 a.m. Racers can register the morning of, and the community is welcome to come out and support the racers.

Wildlife Movie: Come to the Visitor Center at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge for a free wildlife movie presentation at 2 p.m. This week's movie is "Leave it to Beavers." Once valued for their fur or hunted as pests, beavers are seen in a whole new light. This film reveals the ways in which beavers transform and revive landscapes. These rodents are being recruited to accomplish everything from re-establishing water sources in bone-dry deserts to supporting whole communities of wildlife drawn to the aquatic ecosystems they provide. Run time is approximately 55 minutes. The Visitor Center is located 9 miles north of State Highway 34, at the junction of Becker County Highways 26 and 29. Cowboy Church Service & Benefit Horse Show: Hawley's 60th Annual Rodeo Fest week continues with a cowboy church service and benefit horse show on the Hawley Rodeo grounds. The church service starts at 10 a.m., with the horse show to follow at noon. There will also be a silent auction and food booth; admission is a free will offering.

'Take Back the Majority' DFL Fundraiser: Come to Detroit Lakes between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. for a DFL fundraiser-rally-picnic to Take Back the DFL Majority in the Minnesota State Senate! Family Day at the Museum: Families are invited to come paint their own ceramic mugs, which will then be professionally glazed and kiln fired to make them top-rack dishwasher safe. Each $15 mug comes with a card; this is a great project for all ages and artistic abilities. Sisters & Whiskers HSL Benefit: Seven Sisters Spirits will host a benefit for the Humane Society of the Lakes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live music, food trucks, silent auction, wine and spirits sampling, family friendly games and prizes for the kids will all help benefit the Humane Society of the Lakes. Archery League: The Heart of Lakes Bowhunters are hosting a weekly archery league every Tuesday this summer, starting tonight at 6 p.m. This is a six-week league, and participants have the entire week to post their scores, but they must be dropped off by Sunday evening each week. Gift cards will be awarded for the first, second and third place scores. Targets changed and stakes moved every two weeks. Open to all ages and skill levels. Christian Women's Club: The Detroit Lakes Christian Women's Club will meet for a potluck lunch starting at noon in the American Legion Clubrooms, 810 West Lake Drive. The theme of this month's lunch is "When Dreams Come True," and features Karol-Rae Rokala of Grand Rapids,. Minn., who will present "Empty Dreams: From Barren to Bountiful," as well as special music from LaVelle Andersen. Reservations due by Sunday, July 9. Brown Bag Lunch: Come to the Becker County Museum, 714 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes, for a fun and educational lunch presentation featuring local historian Fred Floan, who will discuss the Park Hotel and other historic hotels in the community starting at noon. Bring your own lunch, or reserve a catered lunch from La Barista for $8 by contacting the museum at 218-847-2938 by 10:30 a.m. on the day of the presentation. There is no museum admission fee charged during this event.

DL Cruise Night: Yes, it's the first DL Cruise Night of the season! Come down to West Lake Drive along the Detroit Lakes City Beach between 4-8:30 p.m. and enjoy music, shopping, food and beverages at our local restaurants, and an opportunity to view over 200 classic cars on display (weather permitting). If you have a vintage vehicle of your own to display, come down early and park your car along the beach for public viewing; there is no fee to participate. Detroit Lakes NARFE: Detroit Lakes Chapter 1842 of NARFE (National Active & Retired Federal Employees) will hold their regular meeting at noon in the Holiday Inn's Ice Cutter Room. Agenda items include a wrapup of the NARFE State Conference held at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes on May 21-22, and the election of officers.. All federal retirees and current federal employees are invited to attend. Augustana Church Rummage Sale: Augustana Lutheran Church in rural Detroit Lakes will host a rummage sale on Friday and Saturday, June 7-8, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Sporting goods, collectibles, antiques, furniture and more will be on hand, and there will be goodies for sale throughout both days as well. Located on County Road 22, east of T.J.'s Bar.

Hawley Rodeo: The 60th Annual Hawley Rodeo takes place on the rodeo grounds in Hawley at 7 p.m. on both Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8. For more information please visit the website at https://hawley.govoffice.com and click on the "Rodeo Fest" link on the left side of the page.

Plant, Pest & Gardening Clinics: The Becker County Master Gardeners will once again be hosting their Plant, Pest & Gardening Clinics throughout the summer at the local University of Minnesota Extension office, 1120 Eighth St. SE, Detroit Lakes. Tuesdays in the Park: Every Tuesday night from June through August, Habitat for Humanity will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, beans, potato salad and beverages in the Detroit Lakes City Park from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Following the meal, live music begins at 7 p.m. under the bandshell and lasts for approximately an hour, though some performers do continue to play a little later into the evening. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, as bench seating is limited. In case of inclement weather, both the picnic and the concert will be moved inside the Pavilion.

Tamarac Wildlife Excursions: Explore Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge with a knowledgeable guide. Search for wildlife and learn about the cultural and natural history of the refuge on this two hour driving tour. Detroit Lakes Area Pickleball: Open pickleball play will take place every Monday through Friday, 8:30-11 a.m., at the Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural Center. Two to four courts are available depending on gym and school schedules. All skill levels are welcome; all equipment provided. Wear good quality court shoes. Lakes Area Adoption Support: Lakes Area Adoption Support is an adoption support group for anyone who has adopted or who is in the process of adoption. We meet the last Tuesday of each month at the Audubon Elementary School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Childcare available.

Overeaters Anonymous: Two local chapters of Overeaters Anonymous, a 12-step food addiction recovery program, meet weekly in Detroit Lakes: One group meets on Sundays at 6 p.m. in Community Alliance Church, while the other meets on Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church. Mom's Morning Out: A Mom's Morning Out meeting is held every Thursday morning, 10:30-11:30 a.m. at La Barista in the Washington Square Mall. You and your little one are invited to come visit with other breastfeeding moms and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea. A breastfeeding and infant care expert will be present to answer questions. Birthing class: Essentia Health St. Mary's hosts childbirth preparation classes for expectant mothers in their sixth to seventh month of pregnancy. Topics include Labor & Delivery, Cesarean Birth, Role of the Labor Companion, Newborn Care, Unexpected Outcomes, Breast & Bottle Feeding, Postpartum Period, Breathing Patterns & Relaxation Techniques. L.A. Moms group: Lakes Area (L.A.) Moms is designed to nurture every mother. At our L.A. Community Alliance Church programs: Community Alliance Church, Detroit Lakes, hosts Quilting for Missions Mondays at 9:30 a.m.; The first Tuesday of every month is High Mileage (suggested ages 55 and up), which meets for "pot-blessing" meal at noon, followed by special music and a Bible nugget.

Bone Builders: An exercise class for seniors called "Bone Builders" is being held at 405 W. Maple Ave. in Frazee, Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.; the Lake Park City Center every Tuesday and Friday at 10:15 a.m.; and also at the Vergas Event Center, Thursdays at 9:30.a.m. The group focuses on low-impact and balance exercises.

Alzheimer's Support Group: Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. in the Yoga Studio at Ecumen Detroit Lakes.

Dunvilla Lions Club: The Dunvilla Lions Club will meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Dunn Township Hall.

The Caring Cup: Every second and last Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., community members who are dealing with the loss of a loved one meet at the David-Donehower Funeral Home for friendship, support and encouragement. The free program is open to the public, no registration necessary.

Women's Domestic Violence Education Support Group: Lakes Crisis & Resource Center hosts a Women's Domestic Violence Education Support Group every Wednesday from 5:30—6:30 p.m. in the crisis center. Call to pre-register at 218-847-8572 or 218-847-7446. Childcare is available upon request.

Rummikub, more games: Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., come to Holy Rosary fireplace room for coffee, desserts and a game of cards, board games or Rummikub. Everyone is welcome.

BC Senior Meals: Meals for persons 60 and older are served several times each week at nutrition sites in Detroit Lakes, Lake Park, Osage and Wolf Lake or can be delivered directly to homes in these communities, Frazee and Callaway, via the Meals on Wheels program. One-day advance notice of attendance is required at many sites. Lakes Area Quilt Guild: The Lakes Area Quilt Guild meets every 4th Thursday at 7 pm at Ecumen in Detroit Lakes, Emmanuel Nursing Home in the Forest Conference Center. Check us out on Facebook! All levels of quilters, new and experienced are welcome to attend.

Preschool screening: Preschool screening for 3-5 year olds for the Frazee-Vergas district is provided through Becker County Community Health Services. Call Annie at 218-847-5628 ext. 5419 to make an appointment. This one screening will provide your child the requirements for Early Childhood Screening. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.

Senior Center Activities: The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month. The second Monday of each month there will be a Site Council meeting at 11 a.m. For more information, call 847-5823.

Bingo for DL Hockey: The DL Youth Hockey organization holds Bingo every Sunday at Zorbaz in support of youth hockey in Detroit Lakes. All are welcome; Bingo starts at 6 p.m.
