Correction: The Detroit Lakes Craft Beer Tour will be Friday, Aug. 16. The day of the week was wrong in an earlier version of this story. It has been updated with the correct information. We regret the error.
For the first time ever, Detroit Lakes will be hosting a craft beer festival in August.
Hosted by Seven Sisters Wines & Spirits and produced by Leighton Events, Inc., the Detroit Lakes Craft Beer Tour will take place Friday, Aug. 16 at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area.
The event will feature unlimited beer and cider sampling from local and regional craft breweries along with food vendors, live music and more.
Leighton Events, which is owned by Leighton Broadcasting (parent company of local radio stations KDLM, KRCQ and WAVE 104.1), hosts six other craft beer tour events across Minnesota each year, but this will be the first time that the tour makes a stop in Detroit Lakes.
Tickets are on sale now at craftbeertours.com and Seven Sisters Wines & Spirits for $30 each - or you can purchase a $40 VIP package that includes an extra VIP hour before the main event where you can sample exclusive specialty brews from area brewers, and collect a swag bag stuffed with a can koozie, bottle opener, lanyard, commemorative t-shirt and other promotional items.
