Detroit Lakes' 4th Annual Festival of Trees to benefit the Lakes Crisis & Resource Center is set for this Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Holiday Inn Lakefront.
"This year's festival will not only get you into the holiday spirit, but will give you an early start on decking your halls with adornments and stocking your freezer with goodies," says LCRC Executive Director Anna Sellin. "The evening will be sure to start your season off with everything merry and bright!"
The event gets underway at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, featuring a live Christmas tree auction, silent auction of Christmas items, a catered meal and door prizes.
Nine trees will be auctioned off during the evening; the trees were decorated and donated by local businesses and organizations including Active Nutrition, 180 Balance, Beautiful Junque, Red Willow, Essentia Health St. Mary's, Hometown Crafts & Fabrics, Lakeshirts, Mainstream Boutique, and LCRC's own Kinship, Positive Connections, and Mary's Place programs.
"There will also be a silent auction full of Christmas decor, wreaths, quilts, and more," Sellin added, along with a "delicious" meal and door prizes being given away throughout the evening.
"It is a great opportunity for businesses to get a Christmas tree to display that doesn't need to be redecorated each year," she continued. "All ornaments are wired on the trees, so they can be protected in a tree bag after the holidays and put in storage. When it is time to decorate next year, just unzip the bag! And don't worry about getting the tree home on Saturday night — we can deliver on Sunday."
Tickets for the fundraiser are just $40 and can be purchased via phone, by calling Lakes Crisis & Resource Center at 218-847-8572.
