Polar Fest's busiest day went out with a bang — several of them, in fact — as a dazzling 15-minute display of Frozen Fireworks lit up Detroit Lake behind the Ice Palace Saturday night. Some of the 10-day celebration's biggest crowds lined up along the City Beach to watch the display, then stuck around to enjoy the many ice and snow sculptures decorating King Isbit's Royal Courtyard and Palatial Playground, as well as the sledding hill and copious amounts of hot chocolate.

The 2020 celebration comes to a close Sunday, with a Kids' Pan Fishing Derby starting at noon on Little Detroit Lake, a concert by the Deb Jenkins Band starting at 5 p.m. at the Lodge on Lake Detroit, and a Candlelight Cross Country Ski Night starting at 6 p.m. on the Detroit Mountain cross country ski trails.
