Maplewood Candlelight Ski: From 6 to 8:30 p.m., the 1-mile ski trail at Maplewood State Park will be lighted with 150 candles so people can come and enjoy the evening. Ski, hike, or snowshoe, stand around the campfire, chat with friends, and enjoy hot chili, s'mores, bars, and hot drinks. The chili will be served at 5 p.m., so come early for some supper before heading out on the trail. Maplewood State Park even has 20 sets of snowshoes that you can try out. Skiers age 16 and up will need a ski pass; $10 daily or $25 annual ski passes are available at the park. Minnesota State Park stickers are also required for parking. Pancake Breakfast: The local Knights of Columbus will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser with a choice of pancakes or French toast, sausage and a beverage, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Holy Rosary Parish Center, 1043 Lake Ave., Detroit Lakes, with all proceeds going to support the Becker County Food Pantry.

Guided Snowshoe Trek: Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge will host a guided snowshoe trek at 12:30 p.m., starting at the Discovery Center. Participants will have two options. Go for a short 2 mile walk on the Bear Paw Spur Trail and discover how wildlife adapt to Minnesota winters; or take a 4-mile trek starting at the entrance of the Blackbird Wildlife Drive and ending at the Discovery Center. Members of the Laurentian Lakes Chapter of the North Country Trail Association will provide a shuttle to the starting point for the longer trek. Lenten Fish Fry: The Detroit Lakes Knights of Columbus, Council 3166, will host a Lenten fish fry on three Friday nights during the Lenten season — Feb. 28, March 13 and March 27. Serving will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center, 1043 Lake Ave., Detroit Lakes. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students under age 12. All proceeds will be returned to the community.

STEAM Club at the Becker County Museum: The Becker County Museum will be hosting a weekly Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) Club every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., now through March 31. Students have the option to choose between the Art track or the STEM track, or can or move back and forth between projects. Each two-hour session includes a daily snack and supplies. Volunteer Respite Care: Become a respite care volunteer! For those 17 years and older interested in providing basic companion and supervision to older adults to relieve their primary caregivers. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.

Senior Center Activities: The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month. The second Monday of each month there will be a Site Council meeting at 11 a.m. For more information, call 847-5823.

Bingo for DL Hockey: The DL Youth Hockey organization holds bingo every Sunday at Zorbaz in support of youth hockey in Detroit Lakes. All are welcome; bingo starts at 6 p.m.

Men’s lunch, bridge club: Men's lunch and bridge club meets every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Holiday Inn. Call 701-388-4329 if you are interested in playing.
