The Detroit Lakes Tribune has once again begun accepting community calendar items, for publication online and in our Wednesday print edition.

Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com.

Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Becker County Republicans: The August meeting of the Becker County Republicans will be held at 1123 U.S. Highway 10 East, Detroit Lakes, just north of Spitfire. There will be a social gathering at 6 p.m., with the business meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

Young Life Triathlon: Lakes Area Young Life will be hosting the sprint course-only portion of its annual triathlon from 8 a.m. to noon at the Detroit Lakes City Park and Pavilion. Detroit Lakes Craft Beer Tour: The Second Annual Detroit Lakes Craft Beer Tour will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. at Washington Park. Two VIP flights will be offered, at 1-4 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. This event is a craft beer, hard cider, and malt beverage sampling event that is limited to adults age 21 and up, with no infants, children or pets permitted; no exceptions. Color Guard Breakfast: The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard is hosting a fundraiser breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the Detroit Lakes American Legion Club. Breakfast will feature scrambled eggs, pancakes or French toast, and sausage or bacon, all for a suggested donation of $7.

Tuesdays in the Park: Live music by Zachary Scot Johnson, 7-8:30 p.m., Detroit Lakes City Park Bandshell. No cover charge; free will donations accepted. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Masks are strongly recommended, but not required. In case of rain, this concert will be canceled.

Cormorant Daze: There will be no Cormorant Daze festival in the village of Cormorant this Saturday, Aug. 15, due to coronavirus concerns. The event will return in 2021.

Wolf Lake Harvest Festival: There will be no Harvest Festival in Wolf Lake this year. The 37th annual community festival, originally scheduled for Aug. 14-15, has been postponed until 2021.
