The Detroit Lakes Tribune has once again begun accepting community calendar items, for publication online and in our Wednesday print edition.

Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com.

Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Hubbel Pond WMA Trapping Season Drawing: A virtual drawing for six available trapping permits at Hubbell Pond Wetland Management Area (WMA) will be held at the Detroit Lakes area wildlife office on Tuesday, Oct. 13; applications must be submitted by calling the WMA office at 218-846-8470 by 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Ogema VFW Auxiliary: The monthly meeting of the Ogema VFW Post 9880 Auxiliary will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the VFW Hall. All members are encouraged to attend. Please note fall/winter time change! Dr. Radke Farewell Celebration: Come to the parking lot of the Sanford Health clinic at 1245 Washington Ave., Detroit Lakes, between 2-4 p.m. to congratulate Dr. Armand Radke on his retirement from the ophthalmology department after 32 years. Forester will be sharing some anticipated environmental and conservation issues of the 2021 Minnesota Legislative Session. St. Andrew's (Scottish) Society Dinner/Kirkin' o' the Tartan: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Fargo-Moorhead St. Andrew's (Scottish) Society Dinner, program and Kirkin' o' the Tartan have been canceled. The dinner and program have been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 at the courtyard by Marriot in Moorhead, while the next Kirkin' o' the Tartan will take place Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fargo.
