Becker County Republicans: The November meeting of the Becker County Republicans will be held in the upper level of HUB 41 restaurant, 104 West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes. A 6 p.m. "strategizing" session (food will be available for purchase from the menu) will be followed by the official meeting at 7 p.m.

Lalo's Lunchbox Virtual Children's Event: Lake Agassiz Regional Library will host a virtual children's event featuring some favorite Lalo's Lunchbox characters, starting at 10 a.m. Stick around after the show for a live Q&A with the actors! The virtual event can be viewed online at, free of charge, through funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

The Reel Hope Project: A free video screening from The Reel Hope Project, which highlights Minnesota foster care children who are awaiting adoption, begins at 7 p.m. inside Community Alliance Church, 408 Elm St. West, Detroit Lakes. Harry Potter Workshop: Come dive into the world of Harry Potter and draw your very own snowy owl, Hedwig, in graphite and soft pastel on toned paper. Then, be swept into Hagrid’s hut and create your own baby dragon, Norbert, in colored pencil on black paper — all while listening to a Harry Potter audiobook! Bring a snack and water for break time. Fall Pop-Up Market: Detroit Lakes' Washington Square Mall will host a Fall Pop-Up Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come and check out all the artists, crafters and vendors, stroll the mall and get in some early holiday shopping.

Willow Drawing Class: The Holmes Art Cellar, located in the lower level of the Historic Holmes Theatre at 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes, will host a Willow Drawing Class from 3 to 5 p.m. Come draw a gorgeous willow tree in graphite and soft pastel on toned paper. Honor Flight Fundraiser: VFW Auxiliary 1676 and American Legion Post 15 of Detroit Lakes are hosting a meatball dinner and bake sale from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Detroit Lakes American Legion Club, 810 West Lake Drive. Guests can choose from dine-in and drive-through options for the meal. Call 218-847-8533 for takeout, or a volunteer will bring the meal out to you for curbside pickup. Suggested donations of $10 per meal would be greatly appreciated, as this event is being held as a fundraiser for the Honor Flight program.

Laura Benanti Live Stream Concert: Detroit Lakes' Historic Holmes Theatre is teaming up with the Hennepin Theatre Trust to host a special, one-night-only online concert featuring Tony Award-winning Broadway actress and singer Laura Benanti. This concert will be streamed live from New York's Shubert Virtual Studios at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30. This is part of the Hennepin Theatre Trust's "Women of Broadway" series. Color Guard Breakfast: The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard is hosting a fundraiser breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the Detroit Lakes American Legion Club. Breakfast will feature scrambled eggs, pancakes or French toast, and sausage or bacon, all for a suggested donation of $7.

Starry Winter Night Painting Class: Come learn to paint snowy pines using a fan brush against a beautiful starry sky on a 12x16-inch stretched canvas. Step-by-step instruction. Hometown Holiday Stroll at the Lakes: The Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting a kickoff event for the lakes area holiday shopping season from 4 to 7 p.m. Roughly 30 different locations around Detroit Lakes will be hosting different holiday-themed events and activities including Christmas lighting displays, shopping and dining specials, and much more. Reindeer Sign Painting Class: The Becker County Museum will be hosting a 6:30 p.m. painting class where participants create an 11x18-inch reindeer slat sign to take home with them. Cost is $40 per person, and includes all materials (museum members get a $4 discount). Class size is limited for social distancing. Masks are required.
