Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com.

Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Honor Flight Fundraiser: VFW Auxiliary 1676 and American Legion Post 15 of Detroit Lakes are hosting a meatball dinner and bake sale from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Detroit Lakes American Legion Club, 810 West Lake Drive. Guests can choose from dine-in and drive-through options for the meal. Call 218-847-8533 for takeout, or a volunteer will bring the meal out to you for curbside pickup. Suggested donations of $10 per meal would be greatly appreciated, as this event is being held as a fundraiser for the Honor Flight program.

Laura Benanti Live Stream Concert: Detroit Lakes' Historic Holmes Theatre is teaming up with the Hennepin Theatre Trust to host a special, one-night-only online concert featuring Tony Award-winning Broadway actress and singer Laura Benanti. This concert will be streamed live from New York's Shubert Virtual Studios at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30. This is part of the Hennepin Theatre Trust's "Women of Broadway" series. Cassie will talk through strategies for coping with holiday stress and focusing on the positive. Learn how to prepare yourself and have realistic expectations going into the holiday season. Kiwanis Poinsettia Sale: The Detroit Lakes Kiwanis are selling poinsettia plants as a holiday fundraiser to help support the club's charitable projects. Cost is $20 per 10-inch plant. Tickets are available from Detroit Lakes Kiwanis members, and can also be purchased at the Detroit Lakes Chamber office (700 Summit Ave.). Plants must be picked up at Bergen's Greenhouses, 801 Willow St. West, Detroit Lakes, no later than Tuesday, Nov. 24. Curbside pickup is available; call 218-396-0308 to arrange a time.

Red Cross Blood Donation: The American Red Cross is calling on area residents to donate blood and platelets, in order to help ensure blood is on the shelves for breast cancer patients and others who rely on transfusions for survival.
