The Detroit Lakes Tribune accepts community calendar items, for publication online and in our Wednesday and Sunday print editions, space permitting.

Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com.

Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Community Thanksgiving Feast-COVID Style: Detroit Lakes' Holy Rosary Catholic Church will be hosting its annual Community Thanksgiving Feast — but unlike previous years, all orders will be available for pickup or delivery only. No on-site dining will be permitted. Community residents can call in and order their meals for at-home delivery at 218-847-1393. Pre-orders are necessary for delivered meals only; residents can come into the church and pick up their meals anytime between 11 a.m.-1 p.m., which is also when the meals will be delivered. Volunteers are needed for both serving and delivery. If you would like to help, please contact the parish office at the above number. The meals are available at no cost, though free will donations are gratefully accepted to help defer expenses. Free will offering baskets will be available on site, but donations can also be dropped off at the parish office during regular business hours.

Senior Fraud Prevention Webinar: A webinar titled "Senior Fraud Prevention: Stopping Scams and Staying Safe," will be held via Zoom from 11 a.m. to noon. Learn how to recognize the most common forms of fraud and the tactics aimed at seniors and others from experts at Lutheran Social Services, a partner of Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union in providing financial education for your financial well-being. Learn how to respond assertively to the pressures of phone and online con artists, and know where and how to report fraud. Meet Author Lin Enger-Virtual Presentation: Lake Agassiz Regional Library will host a virtual event featuring local author Lin Enger at 7 p.m. via Facebook Live. Enger will discuss his new book, “American Gospel,” which explores the United State’s obsession with apocalypse and the ways which religious extremists use fear and lies to manipulate. A Moorhead resident, Lin Enger teaches English at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He is the author of "Undiscovered Country," "The High Divide" among other works. This event is free-of-charge and will be presented live on the Lake Agassiz Regional Library Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/larlmn. This presentation is made possible thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
