The Detroit Lakes Tribune accepts community calendar items, for publication online and in our Wednesday and Sunday print editions, space permitting.

Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com.

Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Virtual Holiday Train: Canadian Pacific Railway will be hosting a virtual "Holiday Train at Home" concert at 7 p.m., featuring Serena Ryder, the Trews, JoJo Mason, Logan Staats and Kelly Prescott. The Facebook Live streaming concert can be accessed at facebook.com/Canadian.pacific.

Wednesday, December 16

Virtual Advent Mini-Concert: First Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes will present the "Wednesdays in Advent” holiday mini-concert series, featuring area musicians, at noon every Wednesday during the Advent season, via live stream on the website of First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes, at firstlutheranchurch.com. These half-hour concerts can also be found on First Lutheran’s Facebook page, and will be available at listeners' convenience anytime after the original live stream is aired. Wreaths Across America: Detroit Lakes' annual Wreaths Across America celebration will take place starting at 11 a.m. in Veterans Memorial Park and continuing at the Grand Army of the Republic Park, Boys & Girls Club (aka Lyle Crovisier Memorial Park), Oak Grove Cemetery and Holy Rosary Cemetery. Social distancing guidelines will be maintained to ensure a safe yet festive celebration.
