The Detroit Lakes Tribune accepts community calendar items, for publication online and in our Wednesday and Sunday print editions, space permitting.

Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com.

Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Verizon/Humane Society Donation Drive: BeMoblie is collecting donations for its adoption drive event benefitting Humane Society of the Lakes. During business hours, drop off needed items at either BeMobile Verizon location — 1648 Hwy. 10 W., or 125 Veterans Memorial Pkwy., Detroit Lakes. Some needed items include small breed dog food, canned cat food, cat treats, dog biscuits and soft treats. Also kitten food, cardboard scratches, colored file folders, and toys for both cats and dogs.

The Crown Art Class: Repurpose a simple soup can to honor the queen in your life. Add a candle or plant to make the perfect gift. Spring Meatball Supper: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Evergreen is hosting their annual Spring Meatball Supper at the church, 13130 County Highway 39, Frazee, starting at 4:30 p.m. This is a drive-through event; serving will continue until the food is gone. Menu includes meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, coleslaw, bun and dessert. Cost is a free will offering.

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra: A one-night-only concert by Minnesota's own Galactic Cowboy Orchestra is set for 7:30 p.m. at Detroit Lakes' Historic Holmes Theatre (806 Summit Ave.). Color Guard Breakfast: The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Club, 810 West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes. Suggested donation is $7 for a meal including scrambled eggs; pancakes or French toast; and sausage or bacon, plus beverage.

Farmers to Families Food Distribution: The Farmers to Families Food Box program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will be holding a mobile food shelf event at the Soo Pass Ranch, south of Detroit Lakes on Highway 10, starting at 5 p.m. The waiting line will start at 4 p.m. The event is open to the public and does not require any income verification to receive a donation box.

Storytime Live: Join Kai from the Moorhead Public Library or Eliza from the Detroit Lakes Public Library for a 10 a.m. Storytime featuring songs and stories. This virtual event will be streamed live on the Lake Agassiz Regional Library Facebook page (facebook.com/larlmn) and a recording will be available following the presentation. No pre-registration is required. If you enter the stream before 10:30 a.m., just refresh until the session starts.

Holy Rosary Spring Interlude: Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Detroit Lakes will host its annual Spring Interlude fundraiser, "Dinner, Cocktails & A Cause," starting at 5 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre Ballroom, 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. Those unable to attend in person can also take part virtually and pick up dinner to go.
