Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Community Plant Sale: There will be a plant sale to benefit the Becker County Food Pantry at the Detroit Lakes Community Gardens, 1016-11th Ave. SE, Detroit Lakes, starting at 8 a.m. The sale will continue until all plants are gone. All current COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.
Kids' Musical Auditions: Auditions for the kids' summer musical "Matilda Jr." will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Historic Holmes Theatre, 806 Summit Ave. Performance dates are June 24-26, rehearsal dates are June 1-23 from 1 to 5 p.m; participation in this musical theater camp is $150 per student. Spring Hike on the North Country Trail: Join the Laurentian Lakes Chapter of the North Country Trail Association for a guided spring hike. The hike is about four miles in length and will feature natural areas in the Hubble Pond Wildlife Management Area. Come prepared with sturdy shoes, water, and tick protection. Meet 9 a.m. at the 400th Avenue trailhead near Island Lake in Becker County. Detroit Lakes High School Graduation: The graduating class of Detroit Lakes High School will get their diplomas in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony at Mollberg Field. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. No masks, and no limit on crowd size. Ceremony will also be streamed live at dllakers.com.
Lake Ida Cemetery Association Meeting: The Lake Ida Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on the cemetery grounds, starting at 1 p.m.

Memorial Day Program: Local veterans' organizations will present a Memorial Day program at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Detroit Lakes, starting at 10:30 a.m. The program is expected to conclude with a 21-gun salute and playing of "Taps" at approximately 11 a.m.
Memorial Day Luncheon: A light lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Egelund Church. Free will donations will be used for upkeep of the church and cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend. The church is located 10 miles north of Detroit Lakes on Richwood Road and 4.5 miles east on Becker County Road 26.

Tuesdays in the Park: The Historic Holmes Theatre's Tuesdays in the Park summer concert series kicks off with a 5:30 p.m. picnic lunch, hosted by the Fuller Center for Housing. The picnic will be followed by live music from the Becker County Dixieland Authority under the bandshell in the Detroit Lakes City Park, starting at 7 p.m. Funds raised from the picnic will help provide affordable housing for needy families in the lakes area, while funds raised from the concert will help support the theater and arts projects in the community.
