Hear ye, hear ye, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival is celebrating Irish heritage with its Shamrocks & Shenanigans theme weekend, Sept. 19-20.
Travel back in time and step into the beautifully wooded, 16th century village. Stroll through the 250 artisan shops for unique crafts and goods as well as experience daily jousts, the royal court, 16 stages of entertainment, and food fit for a king! The fifth theme weekend of the season, Shamrocks and Shenanigans, is sure to bring out your Irish spirit!
Be transported to Ireland by visiting the Irish Village with artisans inspired by the isles. Then kick up your heels to do an Irish jig! Performing authentic Irish Dances daily, see Green Fire Dancers at 12 and 3:30 p.m. on the Shepherd’s Green Stage.
Need a break from the festivities? Enjoy guided Free Guinness Beer Tastings on the Pavilion Stage at 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Or cheer loud for your favorite contestant in our Kilt Competition on the Special Events Field Stage at 1 p.m.
Looking to show off your strength? Join in our Keg Toss competition in Shepherd’s Green at 3:30 p.m! The individuals with the longest throws of an empty keg win great prizes from the Festival.

Calling all mashed potato lovers! Put your appetite to the test in our brand new Mashed Potato Eating Contest, which will be held daily at 3 p.m. in Shepherd’s Green. Your goal is to eat a bowl of mashed potatoes faster than all the other competitors without using utensils or your hands.
Grab your friends and head over to Shepherd’s Green to take a classic game to new heights with our Giant Jenga. Challenge your friends to see who will make the tower tumble!
The Minnesota Renaissance Festival’s 45th season continues through Sunday, Oct. 4.
The Festival is open every Saturday and Sunday as well as Festival Friday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., rain or shine.
The festival grounds are located seven miles south of Shakopee on Hwy 169. Festival patrons can enjoy 16 stages of live entertainment, 250 artisan vendors and a variety of themed weekends, full combat jousting and food fit for a king.
Admission at the gate is $22.95 for adults; $13.95 for children ages 5-12; $20.95 for seniors; and free for children ages four and under. Discount tickets are available at participating Menards, Super America, Whole Foods and Walgreens locations. Coupons towards admission are available at participating Subway and Papa Murphy’s locations.
