Farmers to Families food box program is heading to Perham, Minn., on Friday, April 23, at 3 p.m.
The organizers plan to give away 800 units of food to anyone who lines up in their vehicle. There are no income, or residency, requirements to receive a food box and individuals are encouraged to pick-up additional boxes for neighbors who may not be able to make it out the event themselves.
The event will take place at 643 3rd Avenue SE, in Perham, between the car wash and the fairgrounds. Vehicles may start lining up at 2:30 p.m., on the shoulder of 3rd Avenue near the right turn only into the lot, according to the group's Facebook event page . Once inside the perimeter, follow the directions of traffic supervisors and signage.
No walk-ups will be permitted and recipients must stay in their vehicles at all times while they are in line at the event.

On Monday, April 19, the group gave away three semi-trailers worth of food boxes at Soo Pass Ranch, south of Detroit Lakes, and are planning their fourth distribution event for the area on Monday, May 17.
