There will be plenty of spooky goings-on this Halloween weekend in the lakes area.

In Lake Park, trick-or-treaters from grades 7-8 will be busy on Halloween Saturday, Oct. 31, collecting “Treats for the Troops,” starting at 5 p.m. All proceeds will be sent to soldiers serving overseas in Kuwait.

Also on Halloween, the Key Club students from Detroit Lakes High School will host a carnival-style party for the little ones, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the high school. Cost is $2 per child and adults are free.

Also from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, all of the senior living facilities on the Essentia Health-St. Mary’s campus in Detroit Lakes - Oak Crossing, Winchester and Lincoln Park - will host trick-o-treaters from the community.

Lund Lutheran Church on Richwood Road is having “Trunk or Treat” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Halloween night; church members decorate car trunks for trick-or-treaters to visit in the parking lot of the church.

Lakes Area Vineyard Church will host a Halloween party from 5 p.m. to midnight at 1032 Summit Ave. in Detroit Lakes. Kids of all ages are invited.
