Community Remembrance Service: Hospice of the Red River Valley invites community members to remember and honor those who have died through a remembrance service on Thursday, May 5 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Hospice offices in Detroit Lakes (1111 Hwy. 10). This is a peaceful time to reflect on the loss of someone special — not a religious service, rather a time to celebrate and remember.
Fashion Show: The first annual Lakes Chic Street Fashion Show will be held at 7 p.m. inside the open retail space at Norby Flats in downtown Detroit Lakes. This show will include downtown retailers highlighting their upcoming summer collections. There is a cost to attend; each ticket will include a "swag bag" with goodies from local businesses, light appetizers, and an evening full of fashion and fun. Eyes for Mexico Geranium Fundraiser: The Detroit Lakes Lions are selling potted geraniums to benefit their Eyes for Mexico vision program. Pickup is set for 4-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, May 5-6, and 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, May 7. Pots will be set outside the church for purchasers to choose from.
