So far, this winter's weather leaves a lot to be desired, so a timely reading challenge at your library is just what the doctor ordered!
Hot Reads for Cold Nights runs through February. Join the fun! For every four books that participants read or listen to, they are entitled to one entry in a prize drawing.
There is no limit to the number of entries a person can submit. This reading program is for adults. So be sure to curl up with a good book (several highlighted below), stay warm, and enter your name in Hot Reads for Cold Nights 2011.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women--mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends--view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson. Lisbeth Salander--the heart of Larsson's two previous novels--lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She's fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she'll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders.
