Dale Blanshan returns to Perham's ITOW Veterans Museum this Sunday, Nov. 25 for a 3 p.m. show about "Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg."
This month marks the 147th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, one of the greatest speeches in American history.
Utilizing documents, stories, and photographs from the 1860's, Dale Blanshan will lead an exploration of the Battle of Gettysburg beginning with the circumstances that led to it and concluding with Pickett's famous charge.
The program follows Lincoln to Gettysburg, where he had been invited to follow the two-hour speech of noted orator Edward Everett with a few remarks in dedication of the new cemetery.
Blanshan describes himself as a slightly aging gentleman with a penchant for stories and music from days gone by. For this event he will appear in period costume. This event is free and open to the public.
