Lake Park-Audubon students wrap up some holiday cheer

Members of the National Honor Society at Lake Park-Audubon High School recently made a holiday field trip to Walmart in Detroit Lakes, where they collected gift tags for children from the Giving Tree and went on a little shopping spree.

The spirit of giving is alive and well at Lake Park-Audubon High School, where members of the National Honor Society recently raised funds to help make the holidays a little brighter for children in Becker County. Using the funds they raised, a group of NHS volunteers headed out to Walmart in Detroit Lakes, where they collected gift tags for children from the Giving Tree and proceeded to shop for the toys and clothes listed on the tags.

After their shopping spree, the group brought the gifts back to LP-A, where they were wrapped and delivered back to the Giving Tree, just in time for Christmas.

Senior NHS member Zeb Lewis said, “I think it is important to remember that some children may not receive a lot during this time of year. These may be the only gifts they receive.”
