Catherine and Grace Jaroszewski, Miss Northwest and Miss Northwest's Outstanding Teen 2019, were expecting to give up their titles at the Miss Northwest competition in July. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, they'll be holding onto their titles until 2021.

The elongated reign is the result of a decision by the Miss America Organization, according to a news release . With the Miss America competition delayed from December 2020 to July 2021, all 51 qualifying state competitions were also advised to postpone their competitions.

Because the Miss Minnesota pageant is postponed, Catherine will not compete at the state competition until summer 2021. Her sister, Grace, already competed at the teen state competition. Both will continue to hold their titles until the next Miss Northwest pageant in July 2021.
