Eight young women will vie for the Miss Northwest 2010 crown this Friday, July 9, at 7 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre.

The contestants include Katie Hamness, 22, of Strathcona; Kalli Randall, 21, of Brainerd; Melissa Paakh, 17, of Detroit Lakes; Jacqueline Cavalier, 21, of Brainerd; Emma Hilgart, 17, of Brainerd; Joanna Endrizzi, 22, of Greenbush; Sara Jacobson, 20, of Frazee; and Brittany Bachmann, 19, of Perham.

Also this year, because of the 75th anniversary of the Northwest Water Carnival, organizer Cindy Moore is asking all past Miss Northwests to come to the pageant and be recognized.

Each past Miss Northwest will be asked to step on stage, introduce themselves and tell a little about where they've been since being crowned.

For more information, contact Moore at Cindy.Moore@minnesota.edu or 218-334- 2321.
