The Historic Holmes Theatre's annual fundraiser, "Motion," is set for Saturday, Jan. 29, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

Motion is an evening of delicious food, dynamite décor, unique dinners and "Gatherings to Go," and great music by The Fat Cats. All money raised supports arts programming in the lakes area and the theater's multitude of outreach activities.

This year's theme is "black and white with a splash of color," featuring the tastes and sights of Paris. Brighten up your winter with Motion and dance the night away with the music of The Fat Cats.

The Historic Holmes Theatre presents anywhere between four and six kids' shows each season. This year's shows have included: "Mad Science: CSI Live," "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," Watoto Children's Choir, "Ferdinand the Bull," "Harold & the Purple Crayon," and the upcoming "Let Freedom Ring," set for Thursday, March 10. More than 7,000 kids attend these shows each season, at a reduced rate.

Outreach activities that Motion helps support include: "Mobile in Motion," "Mosaic Mania," and the new "Tell Me a Story."
