An online fundraiser organized by Detroit Lakes native Luke Eggebraaten brought in more than $6,150 for the local Boys & Girls Club this past month.

Eggebraaten, who runs his own marketing firm in Omaha, Neb., used his company's expertise to put together a 10-day online fundraiser for the club, which ran from July 22-31.

"We raised $6,150 in 10 days," said Eggebraaten, noting that he and his team at Phaser Marketing "picked an organization we really wanted to give back to" for the fundraiser.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, Eggebraaten presented a check for $6,150.29 to Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Pat Petermann.

""We had 58 donors, who each gave an average of $106," said Petermann. "That's awesome."

"The support came from all over," added Eggebraaten, noting that some of the donors were from out of state as well as throughout Minnesota.

On hand for Saturday's presentation were Boys & Girls Club board members Brittany Nordick, president, and Sandy Gunderson, secretary, along with the club's program director, Tami Skinner.
