Five students from the Detroit Lakes High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter attended the Fall Leadership Conference at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bloomington, Minn., on Oct. 29-30.

Amber Lyman, Madison Hagen, Leiana-Lavette Woodard, Alexandra Swanson and Do Yeon Kim listened to keynote guest speaker David Flood, who used personal life stories to inspire them to look at people and things in a different way.

In addition, all five students from DLHS served as voting delegates representing Region Six. The voting delegates were tasked with electing State Officers to represent the Minnesota BPA members for the 2017-2018 school year. The voting delegates were led by the Region 6 President, Do Yeon Kim.

Additional breakout sessions the students attended were lead by various Minnesota businesses and leaders such as Target, the Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, and Miss Minnesota, Brianna Drevlow. The students were accompanied by the DLHS BPA Advisor, Braeden Hogie
