The Minnesota Renaissance Festival invites pet lovers and their furry companions to the 9th Annual Pet Fest on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12-13.

This is one of the most popular events of the Renaissance Festival, so make sure to bring your own pooch along for a whole weekend dedicated to them!

All patrons are welcome to bring their pets to our special events field at Shepherd’s Green and check out what Pet Fest has to offer. Spoil your pet and shop for pet apparel, personalized tags, and natural pet food. Patrons can also learn about dogs, parrots, ferrets, and more! STEM Bunnies will be joining us at the Festival for the first time this year, to show off their rabbit agility in an agility course demonstration and provide a presentation about everything there is to know about these cute animals. Don’t miss out on the rabbit agility demonstrations, which will be held in Shepherd’s Green at 1:15 and 3:15 p.m. This year we decided it would be fun to add a Peanut Butter Licking Contest that any pet would appreciate and excitedly compete in. Bring your hungry pup to Shepherd’s Green at 3:30 p.m. in order to compete!

Think your pooch has what it takes to win a costume contest? Pet Fest holds a Pet Costume Contest in Shepherd’s Green daily at 1 p.m. All patrons are invited to dress up their pet for a chance to win prizes.

The Festival is excited to announce Weiner Dog Races will be coming back for the fourth year to Pet Fest! The race will begin both days at 2 p.m. in the Joust Field so make sure to come and watch the dachshunds put their tiny legs to work as they race against each other. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest pups. A registration form can be found on the Festival’s website for those who want to give their pup a chance at taking home the gold. If you don’t pre-register, you will also have the opportunity to register from 9-11 a.m. in Shepherd’s Green.
