Join Minnesota Polar Explorer and Arctic Adventurer Lonnie Dupre on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Historic Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes as he shares his experiences of the last 20 years.
He's trekked over 14,000 miles by foot, dog sled team, ski, and kayak.
And as if that isn't exciting enough, Mr. Dupre is scheduled to make a January SOLO ascent of Mt. McKinley before his appearance at the Historic Holmes Theatre.

Paddle Your Own Kayak: An Illustrated Guide to the Art of Kayaking by Gary & Joanie McGuffin. The authors discuss the kayak's Inuit history, types of kayaking, recommended kayak sizes and shapes, and proper gear and clothing. They also offer expert, step-by-step instructions on all of the sport's essential techniques.

Regular hours for the Detroit Lakes Library are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.
