Haining family entertainment

The Haining family from Branson, Mo., performs at 7 p.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. They perform a blend of family harmonies, Bluegrass and yodeling. A freewill offering will be taken, and a social hour will follow.

Ham Bingo

The Callaway Lions Club hosts ham bingo beginning at 7 p.m. in the Callaway Community Center.


St. Theodore’s Church, Ponsford/Pine Point, hosts Bingo at 1:30 p.m. 20 games, 20 winners.

Color Guard breakfast

The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard fundraiser pancake/French toast breakfast is from 8 a.m. to noon in the DL Legion Club. Suggested donation is $6.50.

Athmann benefit

A benefit for David Athmann, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, is from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Moorhead American Legion. There will be a meal, silent auction and more.

Eken, Marquart town hall

Sen. Kent Eken and Rep. Paul Marquart hold a town meeting at 9 a.m. in Detroit Lakes City Hall to hear from residents on important state issues.

PEO Chapter DQ

The PEO Chapter DQ meets at 5 p.m. in the home of Rachael Gabe, where a light meal will be served.  Co-hostesses are Gerry Langemo, Mary Seaworth, Maureen Karsnia, Nancy Swedberg and Nancy Christiansen. Rachael will also present the program.

Flowers for sale

The Roosevelt PTO is selling flowers and some produce now through April 14 to raise money for field trips, technology and other needs for the elementary school. Orders will be delivered May 8 by the students who submitted the orders. For those wishing to order flowers, which will all grow in this zone, can either contact a Roosevelt Elementary student or Jenna Schoenberger at 850-0595.

MOFAS community event

A MOFAS community Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder presentation and discussion for all young men and women, ages 14-25, is May 1 from 4-6 p.m. in Lincoln Education Center, DL. There will be free gifts, dinner and prizes. Childcare is available. Contact Carrie at 218-847-4418 to reserve space.

AARP defensive driving class

ECLA Cluster 7 gathering

All women of the ELCA are invited to attend the Cluster 7 Spring gathering on Saturday, April 26, at NeeGonNee Lutheran Church, rural Mahnomen. Registration is $10 and will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m., followed by a program and a noon luncheon, which is included in the registration fee.
