Crime and fire report: 17-year-old hurt in Osage crash involving Bobcat; Man arrested in Ponsford assault

On Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 1:48 a.m. in Ponsford, a 38-year-old man assaulted a 33-year-old woman. The woman declined medical attention and the man was arrested. The case remains under investigation. Also, on Highway 34 in Osage, a 17-year-old male suffered minor injuries after his vehicle crashed into a Bobcat skid loader. The teenager was transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment. The driver of the Bobcat was not injured.

Monday, Jan. 10

1:34 a.m., on the 800 block of West Avenue, Detroit Lakes, house fire reported. No injuries.

2:31 a.m., near Old Mill Road and Old Mill Drive, Osage, a vehicle was reported off the roadway. No injuries.

8:04 a.m., near Holmes Street, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. One of the vehicles was parked at the time of the collision. No injuries.

8:34 a.m., near Mallard Street and County Road 21, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries.

10:13 a.m., 1300 block Rossman Avenue, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damaged by an unknown vehicle.

1:02 p.m., 23000 block Old Mill Road, Osage, a vehicle was reported in a snowbank. No injuries.

1:41 p.m., near Douglas County, drug related.

1:44 p.m., 100 block West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damage.

2:09 p.m., 20000 block 400th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, fraud.

3:58 p.m., 900 block Willow Street, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

4:30 p.m., near Highway 10 and East Shore Drive, Detroit Lakes, a single vehicle was reported in a snowbank. No injuries.

5:20 p.m., 1200 block 8th Street, Detroit Lakes, suspicion of drug related activity.

5:22 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damage.

10:49 p.m., 1100 block Highway 59, Detroit Lakes, a single vehicle was reported off the roadway. No injuries.

Tuesday, Jan. 11

9:11 a.m., near Cherry Lake Road, Ogema, a report of someone stealing wood from a property.

9:19 a.m., 28000 block 125th Street, Frazee, a caller reported their mailbox and their neighbor’s mailbox were damaged by a possible vehicle.

12:02 p.m., near Holmes Street and Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

2:44 p.m., 1300 block Pelican Lane, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

3:17 p.m., at Lakes Liquor at 200 east Holmes Street, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

4:55 p.m., 1100 block West River Road, Detroit Lakes, package theft.

5:58 p.m., near Highway 59 and Willow Street, Detroit Lakes, a road sign was damaged.

6:11 p.m., 35000 block Hubble Pond Road, Rochert, a single vehicle was reported off the roadway.

6:59 p.m., near Highway 34 and 460th Avenue, Osage, a school bus was reported off the roadway. The bus was full of students at the time of the incident and the children were transferred to another bus. A tow truck was dispatched from Park Rapids.

8:59 p.m., 11000 block 515th Avenue, Menahga, suicide related. A 14-year-old boy claimed he took an overdose of Tylenol. The boy was transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment.

Wednesday, Jan. 12

1:48 a.m., 40000 block Ladoux Road, Ponsford, assault. A 38-year-old man was arrested for assaulting a 33-year-old woman. Medical attention was declined and the case remains under investigation.

3:26 a.m., near Highway 10 and Highway 59, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle struck a snowplow. No injuries.

3:35 a.m., near County Road 143 and Bruce Boulevard, Callaway, a vehicle struck a deer. No injuries.

8:54 a.m., 54000 block Highway 34, Osage, a vehicle struck a Bobcat skid loader. The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, suffered injuries that were not life threatening and was transported to a nearby medical clinic. The driver of the skid loader was not injured.

10:02 a.m., at Wells Fargo at 211 west Holmes Street, Detroit Lakes, fraud. A grandparent scam was reported. An unknown amount of money had been exchanged and the bank is working with the account holder to reclaim the funds.

2:09 p.m., 27000 block County Road 48, Osage, property damage. The caller alleged a renter damaged the property and stole various items.

6:06 p.m., 26000 block Rattle Snake Circle, Waubun, alcohol was stolen from a residence.

7:37 p.m., near mile marker 45 on Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle was reported in the snowbank. No injuries.

8:16 p.m., 200 block Long Lake Lane, Detroit Lakes, suicide related. A 64-year-old man threatened self-harm and was transported to a nearby medical clinic for evaluation.
