Crime and fire report: Boys and Girls Club of White Earth vandalized

On Sunday, Nov. 28 at 12:25 p.m., at the Boys and Girls Club of White Earth at 26310 Crane Road, Ogema, windows were broken to the building and multiple televisions were smashed. The case is under investigation.

The following reports were compiled from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Police Department from an official with knowledge of the cases, unless otherwise noted.

Wednesday, Nov. 24

9:23 a.m., 29000 block McHugh Road, Frazee, a debit card was reportedly stolen in the mail. The stolen card was attempted to be used at B and D gas station. The transaction didn’t go through.

12:20 p.m., 25000 block Brandy Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, property damage. The windows of a camper were broken. The television inside was also broken and a Playstation 4 was stolen.

2:26 p.m., 1300 block Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

6:08 p.m., 1300 block Minnesota Avenue, Detroit Lakes, domestic incident involving two parties. No medical transport was needed. The case has been forwarded to the city attorney for possible charges.

8:21 p.m., 36000 block County Road 21, Ogema, suicide related. A 35-year-old woman was transported to a nearby clinic for evaluation.

9:40 p.m., 26000 block Rattle Snake Circle, Waubun, television stolen.

Thursday, Nov. 25

5:20 a.m., 16000 block County Road 11, Audubon, smoke coming out of a roof. All occupants evacuated safely. Fire extinguished after about one hour.

10:22 a.m., 26000 block Paradise Point Road, Detroit Lakes, transformer on fire between a residence and a garage. A power line was also reported down, causing additional fire damage.

1:55 p.m., near 100th Street and 590th Avenue, Menahga, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

8:35 p.m., at the Becker County Jail at 1428 Stony Road, Detroit Lakes, unruly inmate. The inmate was transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment and returned to the jail.

Friday, Nov. 26

9:47 a.m., 27000 block County Road 26, Detroit Lakes, cash was reported missing from a drawer.

11:26 a.m., near Highway 59 and County Road 83, Callaway, a vehicle struck a deer. No injuries.

12:40 p.m., on Detroit Lake, a caller reported they were worried about kids ice skating on the lake.

1:30 p.m., 2000 block south 2nd Street, Lake Park, in the Dollar General parking lot. A trailer hitch, valued between $300 to $400, was stolen off of a pickup truck.

1:31 p.m., 28000 block Somdahl Road, Callaway, single vehicle found abandoned in a roadside ditch.

1:32 p.m., 900 block Willow Street, Detroit Lakes, possible illegal dumping.

3:10 p.m., 300 block east Frazee Street, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

Saturday, Nov. 27

1:24 a.m., 1100 block Randolph Avenue, Detroit Lakes, physical altercation. An individual’s glasses were bent. The incident is under investigation.

1:34 a.m., 1100 block Randolph Road, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damaged.

5:38 a.m., near mile marker 63 on Highway 34, Osage, fatal single vehicle crash. The driver was a 39-year-old man; the vehicle left the roadway and vaulted an approach, then rolled before coming to a rest on its wheels and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Airbags deployed in the crash and the driver was not wearing his seatbelt.

11:46 a.m., 29000 block County Road 54, Detroit Lakes, single vehicle crash. No injuries.

11:59 a.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

1:57 p.m., 1700 block Brainard Boulevard, Detroit Lakes, a lighted deer object, valued at $170, was stolen.

2:03 p.m., 17000 block Otto Zeck Road, Detroit Lakes, a bullet was found in a screen door. The bullet shattered the glass and came from an unknown origin.

5:07 p.m., 23000 block County Road 32, Detroit Lakes, fatal medical. An unresponsive 79-year-old woman was pronounced dead after CPR failed to revive her.

5:55 p.m., near County Road 5 and County Road 6, Lake Park, a vehicle struck a deer. No injuries.

6:29 p.m., 100 block west Main Avenue, Frazee, a marijuana smell was reported coming from a neighboring apartment.

Sunday, Nov. 28

8:50 a.m., near mile marker 53 on Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, single vehicle crash. No injuries.

9:30 a.m., at Central Market at 303 east Frazee Street, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

12:25 p.m., at the Boys and Girls Club of White Earth at 26310 Crane Road, Ogema, property damage. The windows and multiple televisions were smashed at the community center. The case is under investigation.

12:36 p.m., 300 block east Frazee Street, Detroit Lakes, a tire was slashed.

7:24 p.m., 18000 block 324th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a detached sauna was reported on fire. No injuries.

7:51 p.m., 28000 block County Road 129, Ponsford, assault involving two parties. No injuries and no arrests were reported. The case is under investigation.
