Dan Whitney was born and raised on a pig farm in Pawnee City, Neb. During his college years, Whitney's peers encouraged him to make a career out of his entertaining personality and redneck humor. This encouragement soon sparked a professional career in comedy, under the name Larry the Cable Guy.
Early on in his career, Larry the Cable Guy was often featured on Jeff Foxworthy's "Country Countdown Show," landing him the opportunity to tour with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour in 2000. Following the tour, Whitney debuted his first stand-up album, "Lord, I Apologize," which was certified gold and has sold more than 800,000 copies.
In 2002, Larry the Cable Guy was featured in Comedy Central's, "Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie," the network's highest-rated film in history. Additionally, his distinct voice backed Disney Pixar's "Cars" character, Mater, in 2006, and in 2011, he starred in the History channel's "Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy".
Known for popular phrases "Git-R-Done" and "Lord, I apologize," Larry the Cable Guy has climbed his way to being one of the most popular comedians in the nation. He continues to entertain his audiences with his redneck charm and humor.
