The webcam for watching construction of King Isbit's throne on the Detroit Lakes City Beach is now live.

Area residents can watch all the action at the DL Ice Harvest website, http://iceharvestdl.org/live-feed.

Isbit will be making his royal return to the community in February, to launch the 2019 Polar Fest celebration with the lighting of his throne, Royal Courtyard and Palatial Playground.

The Detroit Lakes Ice Harvest Steering Committee is gearing up to present “MN Sn’Ice: A Minnesota Snow and Ice Showcase,” starting on Thursday, Feb. 7 and continuing through the end of Polar Fest on Feb. 18. An ice carving competition, snow sculpture competition and scavenger hunt in the Palatial Playground are planned as part of the festivities.
