"Let's Talk Plants," a spring gardening workshop featuring the Becker County Master Gardeners, is planned for this Thursday, March 21 at the Detroit Lakes Public Library, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
All are welcome to stop by the library to plant an herb, gather planting wisdom from local experts and find a new gardening book to check out. This event is being offered free of charge. Refreshments will be served.

Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to come to the Detroit Lakes Public Library (1000 Washington Ave.) for storytime this Thursday, March 21 and Saturday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m. A different theme is explored each week. Daycares and other large groups are asked to call ahead.
The Detroit Lakes Public Library has scheduled a Baby Bounce session at 10:30 a.m. this Friday, March 22 in the main meeting room of the Detroit Lakes Public Library. A half-hour program of songs, stories, flannel board, action poems for infants and toddlers plus their caregivers will be followed by playtime and chatting with other caregivers. Join the Library Club at 2 p.m. next Tuesday, March 26 in the main meeting room of the Detroit Lakes Public Library for a presentation by Dr. Mitchell Goldstein, author of the medical espionage thriller "Foreign Threat." Dr. Goldstein is a surgeon with Sanford Health, with an office right here in Detroit Lakes. All are welcome to enjoy a discussion of an interesting topic, refreshments and good conversation. Area teens interested in pursuing writing are invited to join in a group gathering at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 in the Detroit Lakes Public Library's main meeting room. Attendees should bring something to write with and are welcome to bring a piece of writing to share with the group, for inspiration and support.
Knitters of all experience levels are invited to join a Knitting Group at the Detroit Lakes Library, starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27. Bring new and ongoing projects and share experience and inspiration with fellow knitters. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome, but pre-registration is required. Regular hours at the Detroit Lakes Public Library are as follows: Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and all national holidays.
